here is unknown De Havilland of Canada V/STOL model;who can
identify it?.

Hesham,

This is the large-scale, external augmentor V/STOL model tested in the NASA Ames Research Center's 40' x 80' wind tunnel in the late '70s and early '80s.

In a sense, this model is a follow-on from the large-scale models of the 1960s (first wing a straight wing, later replaced with a swept wing of the same aspect ratio). A flight research vehicle was projected (which was to be built by Boeing).

BTW, the 1966 model was part-funded by the CDRB (Canadian Defence Research Board, now DRDC). The engine in your model would be one of the 24 J97-GE-3 UAV turbojets put in storage at Ames after the 1971 termination of the AQM-91 Compass Arrow project.

There are a number of papers by Don Whittley available on the web. Unfortunately, most are for purchase as 'hard copies'.

The caption describes the Canadair CL-246 as an aircraft that would make use of the research done for this unnamed testbed.
