Here is some info about the MD.80;

After the war, while the design office works on Flamingo Bordeaux, Boulogne that focuses
a small three-seater trainer aircraft: the MD 80 ABC.Equipped with a Renault engine 6-Q 240 hp,
it made its first flight on 16 October 1950 in Melun-Villaroche the hands of Kostya Rozanoff.Not
relevant to the official, this device does not know on industry.

04/30/2008. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "The M.D.80 ABC was a private venture project of Avions Marcerl Dassault and the company's smallest (and so far only) light-plane. It was intended as basic trainer for the French AF and had to compete with similar designs of Nord (N2800) and Morane-Saulnier (MS-730).

Only a single prototype was built and was first flown at Melun-Villaroche by Kostia Rozanoff on October 16, 1950 and had a 220-240 hp Renault 6Q piston engine. Plans to re-engine the M.D.80 with a 240 hp Potez 6D-30 were almost certainly never carried out and development was soon stopped."

A very old drawing, so some points would look different today, I think.
