Convair CV-240 family

This aircraft family is lesser-known to many. While it was on service a long time ago, it would have a lot of potential, but the turboprop version was for the Canadian military, not for civilian air travel because of the emergence of aircraft like the Fokker F-27, the YS-11, the Hawker Siddeley HS 748 and others.

It was used in civilian air travel, but it ultimately retired because it was a piston aircraft and they are replaced by turboprops and hence there is a turboprop variant built by Canadair was used for military use, and the turboprop version was not adopted because of competitors like the Japanese YS-11 (service in American service for American Airlines, and Piedmont Airlines), the Fokker F-27, and others like the HS.748.

My parents put me on a turboprop version in Fresno, California and I flew alone to SFO to meet family when I was about...ten? (So about 1967 I guess?)
It was definitely a turboprop and a Convair - I read it on the way up the boarding stair and decided that "Convair" was the most space age name for an aviation company in the whole world. I would really like to know what airline it belonged to and I'm vaguely remembering maybe it was Frontier Airlines because FAT (as it was then) was a Frontier stronghold.
They were handsome little planes. I seem to remember seeing them around the Midwest as a business flyer years later.
