Just today I have had to "verify the security of my connection" over and over... once 4 times within the same thread, each time I tried to move to the next page of the thread!

Another thread I had to re-verify for each attachment I tried to open... 5 from the same post required 5 separate re-verifications!

Does anyone have any idea just what the &^^%$@# is going on here?
 
I've had similar 'Security Storms' when UK's Virgin etc has a panic, usually spawned by extensive DOS attack that we only hear about retrospectively...
 
I would bet that many members travel to SE Asia for work or Holidays.
I have been in Viet and Cambodia for months last year for example.
 
Same issues here, I was wondering what the **** was going on this afternoon. It was not just Secretprojects that was affected, several of my other sites were affected too.
 
Yeah, just Cloudflare again. They had an outage just a few short months ago, then AWS had one, now Cloudflare has another... I suppose AWS is due again soon!

(If you ask the memestock clowns though, it's intentional sabotage to suppress the price of their garbage stocks!)
 
Had same 505 issue in Germany
Thought first a backbone Server issue in Frankfurt am Main
but soon became clear it Cloudflare again

I was amused by Clownflare's error reporting:
Front page: It's not the forum, it's our service in London. Click here for more details"
Clicked page: If something's down it's probably not us
 
AH.com (alternate history) was also down. I was typing a message related to Admiral Jorge Anaya being a useful dickhead during the Falklands war... and the website was unstable each time I typed a single letter. It was a weird and unnerving experience.

Secret Projects in comparison was just down for the count. Did not rose my blood pressure the same way.

France Fights On just shrugged it off.

Software maintenance can sometimes be compared to a game of Jenga. For instance software developers and maintainers may occasionally not be able to immediately fix a revealed problem outright, only work around it for the time being, because the necessary change or changes may cause an even worse issue that they need to find an answer for first.

Other times of course, a known problem isn't fixed because someone has been cutting corners of one sort or another.

Fun fact - AWS stock jumped 10+% after the outage as masses of people realized just how essential is AWS to running everything
Last year, after CrowdStrike paralyzed half the world (I almost had to sleep at the airport after all flights were cancelled), their stock plummeted, then they were back where it was after just a short year.
