CASA 2.111 "Battle of Britain"

Yes, Spanish-built He.111 and Me.109s were fitted with Merlin engines after World War 2.
If you look closely, you will see that bomber engine nacelles resemble the Merlin "Power eggs" installed on Lancaster bombers.

Back in the 80's, a CASA 2.111 and a B-17 visited Calgary International and for 10 bucks, I was able to tour both aircraft, inside and out. The one thing that boggled my mind was just how cramped it was in the 2.111.

The Spanish Heinkel used original Jumo 211s and a consignment of Jumo 211s from It wasn't until the mid 1950s that they got Merlins.

The Buchons used Hispano engines until 1954 when they got Merlins.
