Looking at my copy of Putnam's British Flight Testing - Martlesham Heath 1920-1939' it says that the Type 118 was tested in November 1931 for a civil C of A as R-3, as seen in the first colour profile posted by Skyblazer. There was also a development of the Bristol 118, the Bristol 120, which was eventually submitted to G.4/31 (see this forum for more details). I attach a picture of the turreted. or should I say fitted with a cupola, Type 120.
