Bradley Replacement - XM30 MICV

Scott Taylor with General Dynamics Land Systems said the company is helping develop the next generation of combat vehicles, including the XM30 Wolf, a contender to replace the Army's Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

"We're very proud of that vehicle, the XM30 Wolf. We've delivered our first prototype to the U.S. government for testing just last month. And we're delivering the next two this month," Taylor said.

Abrams, Bradley, Booker… Wolf? Is there a General Wolf I don’t know about, or is the Department of War making another cringey shift in naming conventions?

It’s just a name from GDLS, not the official Army name. Presumably done for marketing reasons as they’re competing against a vehicle nicknamed Lynx.

I’m not so sure. The GDLS design already had a cheesy animal name, the Griffin (III, technically).

The was their offering for the previous iteration of the program. The “Wolf” is a new design and you can see their marketing on their website. The Army is not going to give an official name to a contractor’s submission before the down-select even occurs.

Lynx is essentially like a handbuilt Bentley. Maybachs appear to involve a bit more automation. Only ~ 25 Ls r built a year in the Germany. Other builds are happening, but how is this manu. going to scale as the XM-30? Things r moving not toward an expanded Military Industrial Complex but toward a LRIP complex LRIPC.

That assuming we copy the German approach and don't you know.

Make a proper assembly line for it which is part of the budget. Remember the XM30 is going to be made in the USA and we rarely take other nation way of manufacturing.

Especially when said nation is know for its... Poor military industry decisions. The Germans see the hand made builds as a plus not a minus like it is.

AmeriLynx and HungaroLynx are also quite different by all accounts!
 
That was almost comically undramatic, but good to see the program progressing.
