The RAF could equally have chosen to buy 2nd Global 6000 airframes...

The choice is independent of type

And to add the RAF could have chosen new build for the first two E-7 aircraft but chose used airframes to get the aircraft into conversion as soon as possible. Based on what Jackonicko is saying and acknowledging hindsight is easier than foresight it probably wasn't the best decision.
