Old archival film detailing production of B-29 engines during WW II. A massive project to build a huge new plant from scratch and then even more incredibly abandoned the moment victory was achieved.

Tucker took over the plant for his ill-fated car adventure, then Ford used it for aircraft engine and automotive production until it was closed around 1960.

Part of it was torn down, part of it was converted into a shopping mall, and part of the site is used for a few other purposes, including the corporate headquarters of Tootsie Roll.

Of note, this was one of the last industrial buildings designed by Albert Kahn before his death.
