Dear Justo! In your first post, you said that AW.49 was a fighter. And it looks like a fighter.

But then, you wrote that it was designed for B.20/40.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Air_Ministry_specifications#1940-1949, B.20/40 required "Close Army Support Bomber" with Merlin engine able to dive bomb and photo-reconnaissance", and the winner was (yet unbuilt) "de-navalised version of Fairey Barracuda".

??? All this is difficult to understand. Can I ask you about any clarification?

Here is another Armstrong Whitworth dwg that more closely matches the model, than the magazine dwgs. But it appears that the fin and rudder in the dwg are a bit narrower. might just be the angle. Either way, I have always liked those little tail wheel fairings. In this dwg it is not clear if there is supposed to be a very wide fairing from fuselage to main gear fairing
