That would be really expensive.

"Interceptor UUVs" would be like the 6.75" Countermeasure Anti Torpedoes. Not exactly cheap at ~500k each.
Not necessarily a torpedo at all, just a smaller version of UUV. They'd be smaller and hence likely cheaper than the offending UUVs because they don't have to have the same range, same as it is for aerial UUVs.

Further to the Matsimus video I linked above. Not much detail, but an indication that defence departments are taking the threat seriously.

https://www.navylookout.com/the-growing-threat-to-royal-navy-ships-in-harbour/

Portsmouth and Devonport naval base share their water space with hundreds of leisure craft and small boats. There is no physical barrier at the entrance to the harbours and nothing to prevent USVs or disguised pleasure vessels being driven into the side of ships on the tidal berths. It is a tough call to distinguish between an innocent civilian contact or a serious threat against which lethal force is justified. The short engagement range, a backdrop of public spaces and compressed decision time arguably make this an especially demanding base-security threat.

The Trident base in Washington did much the same panic factor after 9-11. For a year or so, we had a couple decommissioned surface ships moored outboard of the subs and assigned a lookout watchstander to the bridge. Then we got a floating fence on large buoys, quite a distance from the pier. And a GIANT sign about restricted government property and deadly force that you can read from the opposite shore of Hood Canal.

Was that while you were still in the USN?

Predates war in Ukraine ,was meant as COIN gunship , but these days i imagine it could hunt drones as well . This is based on same An-28 Ukraine is using

Fairly detailed article for shotgun use.

Of course Cessna Caravan could do as drone hunter

Time for the KelTec KSG to go semi-auto. Use the ARGO system for gas operation, it needs the least maintenance.

With semi auto shot guns very few actually work in adverse conditions ,if your life depends on it you are on Benneli semi auto, Baikal and Molot are also very reliable ,but not much else

Hatsan escort ROFL
Notice how this POS fails in pristine range conditions , add some use and abuse plus mud and dust and you have a single shot maybe a repeater if that bolt handle did not get broken in the process.

Ships need escorts, in modern sense is doable. They're perfectly capable being carried aboard Aircraft carriers, since they don't even carry full air wings anymore.
The retirement of Cyclone patrol boats was huge discord to naval operations, yet they sold them off to variable navies.

During WWII US built 800 PT boats. Vessels of this magnitude can be sealifted to areas of conflict or towed. Once in contested waters, Act as fore and rear guard to protect convoys and larger combatants.
These vessels can be armed anti-drone munitions
- M230
- 25-30mm cannon
- Stingers/small scale anti-air missiles in launcher module.
- Composite hulls; actively hunt sea mines.
The Skjold one smallest vessels in active duty navies, yet carries enough firepower to level vessels 100x above it's own weight class

The ARGO action is what is in the Benelli gas-operated shotguns, and the MR-1 rifle.

But it's been long enough that ARGO is out of patent protection.

Self regulating gas valves are used in number of firearms ,i dont think Benelli patent would hinder any one .

Turks make shit load of M4 clones , but most just do not work the same .

It might be easier for them to target these drones if they were using tracer rounds.
From my vague recollection of reading In Combat 35 years ago what they're doing is concentrating group fire on a point in front of the drone and waiting for the drone to fly through it, rather than actually aiming at the drone itself. It used to be a practice taught for downing attack aircraft in the '80s, don't know whether it's still taught.

Which would make it even more important for every dude in the squad to have a sight with the appropriate leads built in.

See the new EOTech reticule.

You don't actually calculate the lead with this method, you just make sure the point you're aiming at is definitely in front of the drone's path and wait for it to fly through. It can be done with iron sights theoretically. It's a method that probaby traces back to WWI&2.

"Alexa Spatium represents another step in Ukraine’s rapidly evolving layered air-defense architecture. As Russia introduces faster jet-powered attack drones, Ukraine is responding with faster and more specialized interceptors rather than relying exclusively on scarce and expensive conventional surface-to-air missiles. That cost-effective approach could become increasingly important as both sides continue adapting their unmanned systems to defeat the other’s defenses."

Ukraine Situation Report: Russia To Seize Commercial Infrastructure Left Unprotected From Drones

Russia says companies need to buy their own air defenses to protect critical facilities, and those that haven't will be commandeered.

"Auriga Space has taken its Hermes containerized electromagnetic launcher through its first field test, moving the system beyond development into real-world conditions.

Hermes is Auriga’s answer to a growing mismatch on the battlefield: drone swarms are outpacing the interceptors built to stop them, as missile replenishment is bottlenecked by solid rocket motor production even as defenders burn through costly munitions on cheap targets. "
