Thank you. But SARO's P.148 was not a seaplane, not even an amphibian, but a carrier-borne all-weather fighter. Hence the underwing missile carriage, for instance, or belly-mounted guns.

I think for Edo,it's possibly Model-93 ?.

From this book.
Also covered in my new book, among other projects:

I am naturally a bit biased, but Strike from Beneath the Sea is a pretty dreadful book. The same author's previous book, Submarines with Wings, is decent, although rather short. One of the most valuable parts of that book is the foreword written by Ed Heinemann, who designed the Douglas Model 640.

I scanned this at NARA II last summer and think it will add without duplication to this thread.

The rhetoric; mythology of 2nd World War was the U.S. Navy was at its best; real examination reveals that the service that let its ass get kicked at Pearl Harbor with its Snob mentality was just a white uniformed version of the "From Here to Eternity" mentality of the Army at nearby Schofield. The only movie that even hints at how screwed up the U.S. Navy was, is Otto Preminger's "In Harm's Way" made in 1965 and Ironically Michael Bays "Pearl Harbor" which documents naval officers of intelligence lamenting constant pullover of naval resources in Lend Lease and inability address security concerns. The little things that saved the U.S. Navy in the early days of WW2; the PBY Catalina seaplane, the Gato submarine, PT boats, blimps and seaplanes were quickly discarded after the war in a frenzy to exalt the aircraft carrier and jet worship.

Modernized seaplane can serve issues patrol, interdiction, counter drug/terrorism and anti-submarine roles with minimal modification.
More importantly fly inland farther than helicopters/Tiltrotors to either drop in supplies/evacuate wounded/civilians.
