Updating this thread now with some of the information that came out of Seafuture 2025 on FREMM-EVO and related programs;
IEWS/C-UAS
One feature in particular that was shown off was the enhanced Integrated Electronic Warfare System (IEWS) and new dedicated Counter-UAS system, and the work ELT Group (formerly Elettronica) is doing on that. Apparently a stand-alone modular version has been developed and has already been operationally deployed on a FREMM in service with the Marina Militare. I assume this is a reference to ADRIAN (Anti-Drone Interception Acquisition Neutralization)?
The system in intended to integrate into the existing IEWS, but with the additional of specific X-band radar systems for detection of UAS and then engagement by a jamming system specializing in GNSS jamming/spoofing (and apparently some kind of cyber attack). 'AI' algorithms are included to enhance the speed at which UAS are classified and identified. The system also maintains the ability to operate in a standalone capacity.
ELT has also developed a new generation of what are now conformal, fixed-face electronic attack arrays to succeed those deployed on ships like the PPA and FREMM 'Enhanced'. Apparently there is also a zenithal jammer that would be used specifically to counter high-diving and ballistic anti-ship missiles, as well as interfere with synthetical aperture radar on ISR satellites.

UMS
Additionally, there is also the UMS (Unmanned Management System), which is designed to provide a full-spectrum UxV mission planning and management system, built around a plug-and-play architecture to be easily integrated with new unmanned platforms (as always, we shall see how plug-in-play is actually is when it is delivered). The system is currently in critical design review and is intended to debut on the FREMM-EVO, but will also be rolled out to other platforms and eventually become standard to Italian warships.

Though Italian USV trials are primarily focusing on Fincantieri's SAND, a new 11-meter, 9-tonne USV is under development that is designed to launch from the FREMM-EVO's two 12-meter boat bays (as an alternate payload to RHIBs). The USV has a 12.7mm RWS, but its primary 'armament' is really the reconfigurable deck space that can launch alternative payloads depending on mission (such as UUVs). The USV system is intended primarily to provide enhanced ISR capabilities as well as fill a wider role in ASW and C-UxV missions, but could also be used in an MCM capacity.
UAV capabilities require less modification, as these would be deployed from the helicopter deck aft, and the FREMM-IT already have an abundance of hangar space as they were designed to operate two helicopters (either two NH90 medium helicopters or an NH90 and an AW101 'heavy' helicopter).
