I can't prove that as of yet, but Aachen might be an example. Musk may have advanced rocketry---but he made it a target as well. We all see how Heathrow was all but held hostage. I remember this happening under the Harper government in Canada - there were literally dumpsters full of books - after orders were given to get rid of all of the departmental government libraries (theoretically to save costs).

All that it takes is one government giving an order, or even chronic under-funding leading to damage to archives... or an order to digitise the archives onto SSDs and destroy the originals... there are many ways for libraries and archives to die.

I hope that many of these books were saved by concerned and outraged members of the public (I also hope this idiotic decision by the Harper cabinet a LOT of grief) and no doubt there'd be concerned citizens in the US to swoop and save any of these books if they are dumped by these Vandals (Heads need to roll over this once the Trump regime is out of power).​

What is left is the Library of Faculty für Jet and Rocket Engine
and General Spaceflight literature in Main RWTH Library

What they Aerospace faculty destroyed were First edition books of Sänger, Oberth, Enricke, Von Braun and Von Obain
Original NASA reports on Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, Space Shuttle, ELDO ERSO ESA dokument
also scientific report and dissertation store here were trow away....
