The enemy shows their positions, protected by nets from drones. The grid has been used by both sides for a long time and is an effective means of protection against fpv.
F-16s are too precious eh?A Zlin 137T agricultural plane armed with the R-73 in the anti-drone mission.

As a German, I have no idea who those "Gerans" that you speak of are, but as an aerospace engineer I can confidently tell you that following the parsimony principle there is no reason whatsoever to use F-16s as launch platforms when crop dusters can perform the same mission.F-16s are too precious eh?
I guess losing them to Gerans isn’t nice.
Well, Ukraine did use F-16s against the Gerans, (or Shaheds, but they’re basically different now). Now they figured out a new platform that is more efficient and cheap. As a German, I have no idea who those "Gerans" that you speak of are, but as an aerospace engineer I can confidently tell you that following the parsimony principle there is no reason whatsoever to use F-16s as launch platforms when crop dusters can perform the same mission.
Thanks - I honestly had no idea that "Gerans" are actually a thing, but then again I don't follow the thoroughly depressing conflict blow by blow...Well, Ukraine did use F-16s against the Gerans, (or Shaheds, but they’re basically different now). Gerans - or Geraniums - are kamikaze drones with a warhead of around 50kg, they usually target energetic infrastructure, fortified positions, military offices. They’ve got a range from 500 to 2,500 kmThanks - I honestly had no idea that "Gerans" are actually a thing, but then again I don't follow the thoroughly depressing conflict blow by blow...
Thank you for the (depressing) information. I sincerely wish Ukraine all the best in its brave defense against Putin's utterly illegal aggression.Gerans - or Geraniums - are kamikaze drones with a warhead of around 50kg, they usually target energetic infrastructure, fortified positions, military offices. Unfortunately for you, Gerans are perhaps one of the gamechangers of this war. They get sent en masse (800 monthly) and the 3 factories (under expansion too) could produce even up to 1000 a day. And Ukrainian air defense is failing at interception, only Gepards are capable of shooting them down, but they have too many few systems and low ammo, since a lot of ammo is required to shoot a single Geran-2 down.I sincerely wish Ukraine all the best in its brave defense
In war you use what you have.Ukraine did use F-16s against the Gerans
Yes but Ukraine cannot afford to lose their F-16sIn war you use what you have.
It’s impressive how mostly the Mi-8 withstood the attack. Impressive skill by the pilot too for able to crash land that. Sadly some of the people onboard died, but most survived.Apparently, a Russian Mi-8 was not equipped with the anti-drone ECM. As a consequence, a Ukrainian FPS RC drone hit its fuel tank.

The fibre-optic drone "Prince Vandal of Novgorod" has learned to strike targets at a range of more than 50 km, said Alexey Chadaev, General Director of the Scientific and Technical Centre "Ushkuynik".
