I saw that on social media today, honestly assumed that it was CGI in the film, the guy is absolutely mad.

Even more amazed that in the world we live in the Hr, Health and safety and lawyers let him do it, once let alone 16 times!

If they'd told him no he'd have fired them.

Disagree. Cruise's character was a bad father, but he was still a father, and was fighting to protect his daughter. Robbins' character was a lone nut. Cruise set off intentionally to murder Robbins. Put those together and Cruise arguably had a psychological advantage.

Cruise's character also seemed like the kind who may have grown up in an environment filled with fighting.

..... and Robbin's character was a (large) first-responder from Boston (I think....). Ray Farrier coming from a violence-filled upbringing doesn't guarantee that he wasn't on the receiving end a lot. Anyway, we're trying to compare movie characters' potential capabilities ....I just was reminded of the scene in 'Stand By Me' where 2 of the boys were arguing about who would win: Mighty mouse or Superman ... lol.

Every-time a trailer for a Tom Cruise movie comes on my dad waits to see how long till he’s hanging on the side of a plane.

I found this quote that always gets a smile out of me.
“All of Tom Cruise’s protagonist characters feel like high functioning sociopaths who happened to decide in a cold/calculated manner that being a good guy served their purposes better than being evil.”
