Another obscure French aeroplane from the 1930s, this time the Peyret-Nessler parasol wing monoplane.

Hi,


as discovered by my dear Apophenia,the Louis Peyret designed a light seaplane
trainer biplane in 1924,powered at first by one 16 hp 4-cyl Sergant and replaced
by 45 hp Anzani 6 engine.

Take a look at the control system of the Peyret Tandem. It was a tandem wing airplane with flaperons on both sets of wings that were mechanically mixed. Thanks, hesham and Apophenia, for this. Not for the first time, I have shared the information posted here on obscure light planes over at homebuiltairplanes.com for inspiration. I just wanted to let you know that your efforts in featuring very light aircraft projects and prototypes are much appreciated. There's a Czech company making a nice like 3-cylinder radial that would look great on something like this! Hmmm.... Cheers, Matthew

Edit: And here is an original French article with specs and some interesting details. It was actually a two-seater (though payload was under 300 lb!) and was a more sophisticated design than I had imagined. The ailerons, for example, used a sort of full-length anti-servo tab, presumably for a differential effect to reduce adverse yaw.

The Peyret-Nessler is likely the Libellule light plane, a low-powered parasol single-seater that was much talked about in France in the late 1920s-early 1930s and was the subject of numerous magazine articles including a "how to" series in the magazine Les Ailes.
