Shenyang J-15 "Flying Shark"

It's very difficult to see, due to the low resolution of the picture, but it would appear that the flap is still there:

You can infer it from the shadow that's near the landing gear. Since that area is darker than the surrounding sky, the flap is most probably still there and we see the shadow that's projected on it.
It's just a combination of low resolution and low contrast between the J-15's camo and the sky in the background that makes it seem like it's not there anymore. Look for example at the canards, they are also very hard to discern, but we can still sort of see them.

On the other hand though, the exhausts' petals are in very different configurations between both engines.

Seems insults and derogatory language has some deeper roots than expected.

What is stupid here? I think it is more forgoing basic conversation rules with the peculiar usage of the imperative.
 
People keep this civil there is no need to start fights. I agree the picture is so low quality it is hard to see the flaperon, on the other hand the nozzles are a bit easier to see. So far to me looks like a flat spin due to engine failure. I wish we could see more accident reports from non western fighters. There had been several Sukhoi crashes I wish had more accessible accident reports.

What's stupid? Instead of posting an explanation why you think the flap is gone and why other explanations like the low image-quality is not a better and more reasonable explanation ... or why the strange engine setting is not more likely a reason? You ask others to explain me how a Chinese Flanker looks like? As if this alone is not a stupid post!?

I know it's very hard to see, but as the aircraft is slightly rotating on its axis between those 2 pictures, the light reflecting on it changes and you can see how the part I highlighted in red in the image below becomes slightly more pronounced:

Look at the difference between the wing that is reflecting the sunlight and that angle that is darker than its surroundings: if the flap wasn't there anymore, we would not see a darker spot there. We would just see the same color as the sky.

And if we increase the contrast and decrease the light in the previous picture, we get this:

There are some compression artifacts, but there is quite a difference in contrast between the area where the flap is and the sky in the background. If the flap had detached, we would not see all that noise and contrast in that place.
And if you squint really hard, you can also guess part of the right landing gear's shadow being projected onto the flap.
 
It looks a lot like the Paris airshow mig-29 crash. A hornet also crashed like that a few years ago.

As the party making the weaker and more flawed argument, normally it would be reasonable to approach the discussion with more humility and more effort to produce your own evidence, rather than producing snark in a manner as if the people disagreeing with you were missing something obvious.

In this case, it is you that have forgone basic rules of conversation.
 
I would like to ask all participants here to ahere to just 5 points:

- Stay on topic

- Avoid aggressive and offensive wording

- Accept, if others have a different opinion

Especially point two and four fit very well into the current Lenten period, and you'll quite probably will note, that you're feeling better then !
 
Seriously, I'm really looking forward to the J15 catapulting off from the straight deck.
 
My fault, I didn't make it clear, the following is indeed the difference in the smile of the tail wing icon of the J15T and J15D
 
A great image showing the PLANS-16 „Liaoning“ with her deck full of J-15T fighters.
However I‘m a bit surprised we still have seen a J-15T with PL-15 AAM; these are all still PL-12.

Seems like not every aircraft on that deployment had the stripes.

In any case I think the aircraft look better without those stripes. They aren't tasteful, but rather just a way of making formation stripes for parade's seem less visually tacky.

In a world filled with terribly boring, grey-on-grey aircraft these stripes provided a welcome splash of color as a nice detail. Given that we're not even seeing high-vis roundels as often as we used to.

I find them tasteful and it set them apart ;~;

If they had more unique tail/wing unit art or colours like some USN squadrons do, that would be neat.

However formation stripes feel like a way of saying "we are very precise about wanting to have precise formations for parades and we are going to try to give them a bit of colour to put lipstick on a pig". In that context, imo standard grey looks more professional, because those formation stripes from most angles just look like someone threw a few dashes of paint except from a very specific perspective.
