I am currently making a compendium of (and soon to be encyclopedia book) on prototype and experimental AFV's. Everything from Tanks to Armoured Cars, SPGs, anything that's an AFV. It can be anything from the well known Objcet 279 and O-I to some super obscure project from the 30's. I also will incorporate experimental prototypes of different variants like the Challenger that mounted a boom with AT rockets. Vehicles that qualify for inclusion is that it had to exist in the sence that it was either actually built, or had a model/mock up of it or even simply exist as blur prints or a one off suggestion by an engineer! Pictures will be appreciated as well as a link to the information obtained since the compendium will detail development and technical details and testing of the vehicle. Illustrations would be nice too. The only vehicles that are not included are fakes, that only existed as a plastic model kit (ie: WOT abomination). Would love to see the suggestions and am greatly excited to see what I'll find!

Are you going to include prone prototypes like the Australian "Mobile Slit Trench" or the pair of prone light assault tanks proposed by a Polish refugee living in Canada during WW2? Hint: his second proposal included Carden-Loyd Carrier suspension.
yeah of course. the purpose of this thread is for people to give me ideas and tell me what's out there. I see lots of pictures of prototypes on pintrest but don't know the names or where I can find info on the vehicles

A couple of photos of it were published in the book "Secret Weapons of the Canadian Army" along with descriptions of another half-dozen obscure Canadian AFVs.
The Same press also published slender books on Ram Tanks, Bobcat APCs, Centurion in Canadian Service, etc.
If you want to see a Ram II tank, there is one parked on the sidewalk just a pistol-shot from the Stadium Skytrain Station in downtown Vancouver. Inside the armory, they keep a Ferret Scout Car, Lynx recce vehicle, etc.
To see and fondle other Canadian AFVs, visit the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa or the museum at CFB Borden, Ontario. To see Canadian AFVs driving around, visit the Ontario Regiment Museum in Oshawa, Ontario ( a suburb of Toronto).

Hi.
Some years ago I made a thread about the japanese afv until 1945 at another forum which included and still includes most "(in)officially developed" armored vehicles of IJA and IJN I found. There are still some missing which are mentioned in official papers. But as I couldn´t find further data on these I decided not to add them atm.

Is this something you’re seriously considering/actually in the process of making or are you just thinking out loud? If you want funding I’m absolutely sure many people on this forum would be willing to chip in(myself included)as to my knowledge,no such book has ever been attempted. I would highly suggest taking a look at the “tank encyclopedia” website. There are countless obscure and interesting designs there.
