Is that an optical illusion, or a big, diagonal crease across all three of the hut's side-panels ??

I can see traverse travel-lock, but there does not seem room to elevate or traverse...

Compared to the other style, with turret hung off back, this seems bizarre...

It is a single turret hung back, not turret and box.
It has all the room to traverse and elevate.

Okay, so top one's a mock-up, minus turret ring ??

It has a ring, they've just brought the turret sides down over most of it. You can see a notch out in the turret where the ring reaches the side of the platform.

Dan Inbox's pic seems to be a slightly different version -- the whole turret ring is exposed and the cover over the breech and recoil mechanism is different, without the recessed panels (lightening efforts?) that can be seen in the other photos.
