maybe its just a fantasy, but i think turkey should have the basic ability to design a fighter(TUSAS?),so as Hellenic

Does anyone have any more info or pictures on the South African Cava?
I'd be most grateful, cheers. :)

"Project Carver" sounds more like a bureaucrat looking to kill programs to "save money" (more like to funnel more money to his pet scheme). Yeah, I know, I'm cynical; I think it comes from being in the business this long.

about cava,there‘s the best disscuss:http://saairforce.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?t=157 ;D ;D

Hi,

The 3D render is not of a real project. It's a fan-art-what-if-combination of a fellow Turkish 3D artist.

Turkey indeed had a jet trainer aircraft project in the Fifties, called "Mehmetcik" which could also be used for light attack missions. It was abandoned.

There is an ongoing turboprop trainer aircraft project underway in TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries). The name of the aircraft is "Hurkus" ("Free Bird" in English) in honour of Mr Vecihi Hurkus, one of the pioneers of Turkish aviation. Conceptual design phase has been completed and first flight is expected to take place in late 2008. The requirement is about 50 for Air Force and 46 for Army Aviation.

Hesham,
that configuration for the MCA may have been forsaken the following .. that is because the MCA is now no longer being envisaged as primarily a strike aircraft ...it is being seen as a hedge against the PAK_FA .. which is why the more conventional layout favouring A2A

It would be of interest to many, I'm sure. I would make sure that its ok to post the info first however.

Another similar design to the iranian derivatives of the 206, is the Cicare Helicopteros CH-14 "Aguilucho", introduced in 2007. Developed in conjunction with the Argentine Army, it was to become a light ARH. Several conceptual problems between the Army and the Defense Ministry, made the project stalled, although not yet officially been canceled.

Very similar indeed, but it's really a new development and
isn't based on the Jet Ranger, is it ?

So it is. Is a new design (with tubular structure and use of composite materials), whose only similarity with the 206 is the power plant (Allison 250 C20B). However, there were some voices in the United States claiming that the CH-14 was some kind of copy of Load Ranger 2000.

On this years ILA in Berlin HAL showed models of the LCA versions, the fighter, trainer and naval version.
The trainer now has a beak shaped nose.

Hasan, follow your own link to the site. Click on the image, and you will go to this webpage:
https://aeromagia.net/2013/02/02/do-fundo-do-bau-de-joseph-kovacs/
On that webpage you will find the complete image, which I have copied and attached.
The page's text tells the story of an EMBRAER Xingu development, which was never built. You can find out what story it is by offering the text to Google Translate.

Floating Cobra.... The Result of This project is Unknown !....
Interesting! The distinctive narrow design of the Cobra's fuselage would undoubtedly make stability on water extremely difficult....

Is it me, or does the Tejas have a sort of Gothic Wing?

Sort of Gothic.
Tejas inner wing inner leading edge has a shallower sweep than outer wing panels ... the opposite of most other supersonic jet fighters.
The only other that comes to mind is the SAAB Viggen main wing. Viggen canard is optimized to fly from short runways.
We wonder why???????

T-7A inner leading edge has just slightly reduced sweep compared to outer half.

Looks like that Cobra is testing emergency floatation.
Similar quick-inflate floatation is often installed on R-22, Jet Ranger, Wessex, Sea King, Super Puma, etc. that routinely fly over water. when they inflate, emergency floats on Sea Kings equal the size of stock aluminum floats ... doubling stability in roll. Even so, many of the Sea Kings that ditched at sea soon tipped over to float inverted.
Bell 47 was one of the first helicopters with inflatable - versus rigid - pneumatic floats. They were bolted on to Bell 47s that often flew over water.
