It was always mystery for me what was between F.25 Promotor and F.27 Friendship.

Now I found the picture of F.26 project published in Flight International (#2079, 1948, p.514).
It's mentioned as not-realized 17-passenger aircraft:

http://www.flightglobal.com/FlightPDFArchive/1948/1948%20-%201804.pdf

I'd be glad to hear more about this project.
Best regards,

PS. In the same page there is F.24 picture.

Fokker F-26 ( Phantom ) project.

See : Fokker bouwer aan de wereldluchtvaart ( Thijs Postma ) 1981
page 136-137.
you will fine a drawing of the aircraft.

Hope this will help.

Apophenia, thank you a lot. It's more information than I hope to get.

swallow, it's not everytime easy to find a Dutch book in other countries.

Burunduk,

The book mentioned by Swallow is available at Abebooks.de.
(several items)

Good luck.

Found this in a 1979 book "Fokker - Aircraft Builders to the World" by Thijs Postma. English edition by Jane's publishing.

Enjoy the Day! Mark

And another shot of the Phantom:

Some of the references state that the F-26 was merely a design study and that it was never intended to build this aircraft. The model was displayed at the Paris Air Show.

Hi Everyone,

We at the International Resin Modellers Association (www.internationalresinmodellers.com) have done a 1/72 model for this aircraft, IRMA Kit No. 7 Fokker F.26 Phantom. It includes mostly resin parts with clear resin cockpit canopy and windows, full interior details and decals for the prototype. Still working on mine at the moment. A very interesting aircraft! Here are the article links: Articles 19 Fokker F.26 Phantom (www.internationalresinmodellers.com/articles_19_fokker_f26_phantom) and Articles 20 Building the IRMA Kit No. 7 Fokker F.26 Phantom (www.internationalresinmodellers.com/articles_20_building_the_fokker_f26_phantom). If this kit is of interest, our IRMA On-Line Store is located at: www.internationalresinmodellers.com/irma_on-line_store.

If you have any unusual kit requests, especially related to Secret Projects aircraft, please drop us a line at: info@internationalresinmodellers.com and we'll see what we can do!

Upcoming kits for 2014 include:

IRMA Kit No. 8 Avro Canada C102 Jetliner- First airliner of North America, flown in 1949, resin with clear resin canopy and windows and full interior details with passenger seating. Decals for prototype.
IRMA Kit No. 9 Tupolev Tu-12 - First jet bomber design of the Soviet Union, flown in 1947 ending up as an engine test-bed. All resin with clear resin and metal details. Decals for prototype.
IRMA Kit No.10 N.A.C.A.-Langley-Jacobs-Jeep - Alternative motor jet design for the US Army Air Force during Second World War. All resin with clear resin and metal details. Decals for prototype.

We've 66 kit subjects so far of never-before-produced kits from the early jet age! Keep those suggestions coming!!!

Regards,

Zane

Hi All.
As many of you know I rarely deal with civil airliners, but I am currently going through The Aeroplane for 1946-1952 and have just found the attached for the Fokker F.26.
I hope it is new to at least some of you.
Very best wishes to All, Tony.

I edited Tony's scan a bit.

The letter " P " is incorrectly used here Hesham. Please
see the illustration you posted : Ontwerp ...

OK my dear Skyblazer,

I don't remember it,and for my dear Lark,I know the term "Ontwerp",and I used
it in other many sites, but generally we can call it that, because the company later
used this "P" as prefix instead off Ontwerp,such as P.305,here;
http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,9542.msg221747.html#msg221747

The P designation was certainly NOT used instead of ontwerp number.

It was only after Fokker merged with VFW in 1969 that sometimes a P
designation was used for a projected design.

Since this is a dependable information site we just can not mixing up ' things'..

Found this.

Greetings! It's been a while, but I'm still progressing on my Fokker F.26 Phantom. It's taken a while because I've added interior lighting using LED fiber optics in the cockpit and passenger compartment. Currently, adding navigation and landing lights too. You can see my progress at Articles 20 Building the IRMA Kit No. 7 Fokker F.26 Phantom (www.internationalresinmodellers.com/articles_20_building_the_fokker_f26_phantom). If there are any questions, feel free to post on here or contact me at: zanenobbs@internationalresinmodelleres.com. Enjoy!

Finally finished the Fokker F.26 Phantom! Here are some photos of it. The interior lights up with internal LEDs. There will be a Dutch Petroleum Shell Truck to house the switch and power to the lights. Also adding navigation lighting a bit later.

Great job! First real look at the airplane. I think the color scheme is part of it, it has this "airliner of the future" look that you would see on magazine covers in the 30s.

Thank you! This is my absolute favorite "What might have been!" aircraft. It really does look optimistic for that time period. It is unfortunate that Great Britain, via De Havilland, withdrew from this project. It is a very interesting configuration and a commercial jet could have flown before 1949!

Currently, working on the Fokker F.26 Phantom diorama for the internal lighting with the LED fiber optics. I've found a Dutch Petroleum Shell tanker truck, a Scammell Rigid 6 from Corgi, but am not sure what scale it's in. Does anyone know the dimensions for the truck? I can't find anything on the internet this specific. Or if there is a Dutch Shell vehicle in 1/72 or 1/76, that would be great! I'm housing the light source and switch in the truck.

The basic F.26 configuration was revived by the duPont DP-2 VTOL airliner project during the 1970s. DuPont hoped to make his small airliner VTOL, but despite the most advanced composites, could never make exhaust nozzles withstand jet temperatures.

Yes! I was in touch with Mr. DuPont to make a resin kit of the DP-2, however, we lost touch. He did tell me that he had some desktop models, but someone stole these from him. Is he still active? I'm still interested to do a kit, but without dimensions or blueprints it would be very difficult and not very accurate.

Dear Zanenobbs,
If you look on the “DuPont Aerospace thread, you will find drawings with a few dimensions. The prototype was stored at the Classic Rotors Museum, in Ramona, California during August 2013.
