The recently published third Air Britain book on Miles Aircraft has a little bit more information on the Miles M.61 and M.62 high wing "Economical Freighter" transport type with a thin tail boom dating from April 1944.

Wooden construction with a metal boom. Wright Cyclone chosen because of their availability and previous experience of installation on the Monitor and Martinet designs.

Miles M.62
All metal construction with a high wing and 'H' tail on the end of a thin boom. Four Bristol Mercury engines were considered as an alternative.
Front and rear doors to allow loading and unloading to be achieved simultaneously. This larger design could carry a Bren gun carrier or Bofors gun.
