Found these in a TsAGI bulletin, possible reference to source. Anyone know more?

Possible source: Interavia Aerospace Review, 1986, v41, VII, N7, p791-792

And second is F-16TVC proposed as alternative to F-15.

Yups. I didnt see that overscan mention F-16XL. This is (yet) unknown to me. But in 80s allmost every drawing of a new plane had a 2D thrust vectoring same like these.

Never seen these. When I was a kid they sold collector cards with airplane or animal pictures on them with short encyclopedia entries that you collected in what looked like a plastic recipe box. So I was concerned this card might be a part of one of those sets. Thanks for the clarifcation, Paul.

Found a german article on the STOL Technology and Maneuvering Test Bed with concept drawing of 3 different industry proposals: F-18, F-16XL and F-15
The art for the F-18 variant is extremely similar to the one overscan uploaded in the first post of the topic. But BillRo also posted the exact same art in much better quality in this other thread. Maybe the two threads should be merged.
