Yakovlev Yak-RD10

Anyone got any info on these pics, one is on Wikepedia as a Yak-15 but look again at the undercarriage? These are on the web on a couple of sites, no intention to breach any copyrights etc on the images. Ok look closely on the main undercariage layout so not quite a normal Yak-15, TSRJoe reckons they could be test bed for Yak-23 development, laminar flow wings or Yak-23 wing/engine test bed??
Anyone got any info?

Experimental fighters Yak-RD-10 and Yak-3-YUMO(Jumo 004) / future Yak-15 / 1946
Yak-3-YUMO is a modification of the serial Yak-3,
Yak-RD-10 of his "rival" was an entirely new plane (despite the obvious similarities) with a more modern layout and wing feathers, which is its advantage. Nevertheless, preference was given exactly the Yak-3-YUMO as best suitable for the transition to the combatant forces reactive/jet technique.

Unfortunately in my files, no images of the wing, but of the many
a description of that is still closer to the Yak-3 (although the wing had a different form in terms of - front edge at the root of the wing was straight),
but mechanization wing with high-speed, laminar (laminizirovannymi) profiles
TsAGI was like the future of the Yak-23. In addition: ejector
seat, the presence of frontal armor glass thickness 55mm. The new chassis (the old not fit in
thin wing) main wheels 600h180mm size, the distance between them in the track 2m.,
tail metal 230h180mm.
Estimated maximum speed of the Yak-RD-10 (reference to another symbol of the Yak-17-RD-10 from E. Gordon /)-850km

Thanks for the reply, having looked at the 3/4 view picture the main wing appears to be straight by comparison to the normal Yak type wings. One last question looking at the picture does the main wheel tuck into a well on the underside of the wing even with the main leg etc retracting into the fuselage?

Main undercarriage is mounted to force the elements of the fuselage and remove the fuselage back to the niche with turning 180 degrees around the longitudinal axis of rack.

Resurrecting this topic but has there been any evidence to suggest that Yakovlev's Yak-15 design was influenced in any way by German WW2 projects such as those from Focke-Wulf and Messerschmitt, the latter the P.1092 and P.1106?

Do you think we needed such kind of influence?
The "redan" layout was originally designed in the USSR, it was used first time by Anatoly Eremenko (or Yeryomenko, for more correct spelling) in his KhAI-2 project proposed already in 1937! This aircraft was discussed at http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,4919.0.html.

Then it was used by Mikhail Gudkov in his projects of LaGG-3 modification for Lyulka RD-1 engine (1942) and more advanced, special designed Gu-VRD (1943).

Given that none of the books I have on early Soviet jet development ever mention German influence in regards to the likes of the Yak-15, I was pretty sure there was none. Yet at least one book on German experimental planes tries to make that connection so I had to ask as I know there are a number of Russian aviation authorities here who can set the record straight.

Do you think we needed such kind of influence?
