The Horton Jet Model is as close to a Flash Gordon ship as humanity could ever get.

The F-4 Phantom was considered "the ultimate victory of thrust over aerodynamics" after all.

I have a book somewhere that has pictures of all-jet craft.

I forget what the concept is called--not aeronef but something close?

The truth is, this supposed plane is mostly just theory and, above all, a sketch without much meaning. I don't trust Horton much, but I do believe his plane was good. I wish someone would run tests confirming its payload capacity, superior to all existing planes; that's what its creator claims. Also, absurd range. I'm just using that to sell his supposedly superior plane.

If Burnelli's models achieved performance between 1.75 and two times greater than an airplane with similar mechanics, I don't think the Horton, being an extremely similar design in concept, would even surpass it. Much less that it has the potential to achieve 40,000 kilometers of range in its most powerful version—that's crazy. I wish someone more enlightened could defend what Horton proposed; I don't trust him.
