I was on the internet and I found this:

Do you have any suggestions to which planes have the best smiley face? Post whatever you want, as long as it has an intake which looks like smiley face.

Lockheed used to have an ad for the Hercules transport using the fact it delivered aid all over the world A FACE ONLY A MOTHER COULD LOVE. Couldnt find the ad on line but

ROTF LMAO

That thread is great ! :D

As for the Shackleton - don't forget, that one may be smiling, but it is the (grand)son of the Lancaster, who really killed a lot of people in WWII.

A good case could be make that

- Shackleton is Luke Skywalker
- it has thus some "dark side" inside him
- the Lancaster being Darth Vader / Dark Vador
- making "Bomber Harris" Palpatin ?

Nord Griffon ain't really smiling - it rather look "startled" with its mouth wide open, in the shape of an "O" as if it was saying
"OOOOOOOOOOOH my god I'm so fast !!"

Alternatively, the Griffon looks like a fat opera singer (with a large belly, ROTFL) giving all the lung strength he has on the opera climax (think Pavarotti !)

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH !!!!!"

(and surely enough, the Griffon needed a big wide "mouth" and heavy inspiration to feed all the air and oxygen the Atar & ramjet needed).

And that long and pointy nose is so reminiscent of Cyrano de Bergerac ...

Shame to see such a beautiful aircraft in such terrible condition :( .

Hopefully, one day, someone with enough money might be able to have it restored.
