Vultee FSW aircraft

Discovered by my dear Tophe,


here is the Vultee FSW aircraft patent,I have never seen like it before,may be
related to a real proposal,or may be mention in Mr. Tony Buttler last book about
American Secret Projects : Fighters and Bombers of WW2.

If you simply take the time to read through the abstract of the patent, you'll find it was nowhere near a combat plane but an observation type! I'm surprised you could even think it could be a fighter design given its big belly and poor aerodynamics!

Why do you insist on refusing the evidence?? The abstract SAYS CLEARLY it was an observation type!

More particularly the invention relates airplane of this type which is generally an improvement upon and has certain inherent advantages over previously designed observation airplanes and is characterized by the fact that the fuselage is so designed and constructed that the pilot and observer have unobstructed vision through substantially all parts or portions of it.

It couldn't be clearer than that!

The canopy itself is typical of observation types such as the Curtiss O-40 and such.
