Saw this model of a four-engined fighter concept from Vought on Ebay.:

topping precise VFX concept 4 engine vigilante 28" desk top model NAVY USAF

Description:
An unusual model, not a topping or precise model, appears
to be factory, do not know history, looks to be of the Vigilante
development period, military wanted SS airframes of the period,
this looks like a proposal, there is a USAF version, this model is
offered other ways, reserve the ability to remove from auction,
there is a moderate reserve, please ask questions, as is sale

It looks like somebody had deep pockets. Good thing I snagged the photos before it sold!

That reminds me of one of the Northrop N designs in the Secret Projects US Fighters book.

Yes, the rear of this model with the four engines and those larger tail elevators reminds me of the Northrop N-167A.

How confident are folks that this is a legit manufacturers model? It doesn't match any of the Vought VFX designs we have on the site and doesn't even really feel like a Vought idea. Or a plane likely to fit on a carrier. But I am not the expert here.

Not many have a larger stabilizer span than the wing. That's what's always stuck in my head with that design.

Its a legit model, but the only thing that makes it look like Vought is the stand. It looks large, like maybe Vigilante sized.

It reminds me somewhat of the North American FBX / WS-300.
