Nope. Plain old Windows virus. I'm mildly annoyed that my tax dollars went to really high tech aerospace hardware that is controlled by off the shelf windows software. FreeBSD is your friend people, and it wont get Viruses!!!

On the other hand, if the hardware is compromised, it may not matter which OS is installed.

The OS would be the most likely entry vector to a BIOS based attack. I doubt some "secret agent" went in there and booted a CD on all the machines without somebody noticing. Maybe I'm wrong, but SOP in secure facilities is to have passwords on all the BIOS of their Wintel boxes.
