Vinko Kristan was apparently a blacksmith who developed this machine in his spare time. It was referred to as "samofrč" (self-flyer) by locals because it was pedal-driven. The body was constructed of wood with canvas (as were the two-bladed rotor system and stabilizing propeller blades, I think). It was built around 1926 and was only able to fly about a meter off the ground.
