Amazing find my dear Paul,

you made my day,and that design is so weird,in 1923,the only mystery we don't know
what was it,the Vickers Drawing No.9047 for Spec. 10/23,as single seat day bomber.

Re: VICKERS SINGLE SEATER FIGHTER HISPANO ENGINE BLUEPRINT G.A. DRAWING 1926 1/16th

Anther amazing find my dear Paul,

it's Vickers Drawing No.12300,and maybe submitted to Spec. 21/26 or a cancelled
Spec. 27/26.

My dear Paul,

that's a Vickers Drawing No.5196,but when I check 1920 specifications,I can't determine which one it made for ?.

Not to diminish Paul's "find" in any way, but all these Vickers blueprints have been on eBay for several months now, and were already brought to our attention at the time by Schneiderman in a topic which I cannot find at the moment.

I then started a second topic that prolonged the first one and which can be found here:
Mystery of the Vickers Type 153

Unfortunately it doesn't have a link to Schneiderman's first thread. I find it odd still that using the words "Vickers" and "blueprint" in the search engine did not bring it up.

Re: VICKERS SINGLE SEATER FIGHTER HISPANO ENGINE BLUEPRINT G.A. DRAWING 1926 1/16th

I did search for some relevant keywords and didn't find a topic ;) I was rather hoping someone might buy them.

Re: VICKERS SINGLE SEATER FIGHTER HISPANO ENGINE BLUEPRINT G.A. DRAWING 1926 1/16th

Hi Paul,

I bought two but at £20 each there is a limit on how many to get. The one you posted is a known aircraft, Type 123 (unnamed) a private venture fighter flown in 1926. No need for Hesham's random speculations, its all documented in Vickers Aircraft since 1908.

Ciao

Drawing 5296. According to the Putnam volume there are no reliable records for Vickers projects before Type 54, this one in probably Type 52. It may pre-date the start of the official Air Min spec. system, but could be to DofR Type 2 (which became 2/21) or just a PV

Re: VICKERS SINGLE SEATER FIGHTER HISPANO ENGINE BLUEPRINT G.A. DRAWING 1926 1/16th

Schneiderman,

it is not my speculations,it is a fact in the book; The British Aircraft Specifications File, you can ask the authors if they are still alive, K.J. Meekoms & Eric B. Morgan, from where they wrote this; Drawing Number.

Clearly named as 8015, so Type 80. This does not appear in the Putnam list so is a new find. There appears to be a lot of SE5a in the design and no obvious role in the RAF. Reconditioned aircraft for export, perhaps?

Re: VICKERS SINGLE SEATER FIGHTER HISPANO ENGINE BLUEPRINT G.A. DRAWING 1926 1/16th

Hesham,

No it is not. The book clearly says that the aircraft tendered to 21/26 was the Type 141, not the Type 123. It is true that the Type 141 was modified from the Type 123 and had a new engine, but it is not the same aircraft.

Thanks Schneiderman. I have no interest myself in pre-WW2 aviation so I wouldn't know.

Re: VICKERS SINGLE SEATER FIGHTER HISPANO ENGINE BLUEPRINT G.A. DRAWING 1926 1/16th

Paul, I'm shocked (no emoticon for shocked) :-\
I wonder why a random selection of blueprints for relatively obscure Vickers aircraft would suddenly turn up? Very curious

Re: VICKERS SINGLE SEATER FIGHTER HISPANO ENGINE BLUEPRINT G.A. DRAWING 1926 1/16th

I know the guy who runs the shop, he has a huge amount of stuff collected over years from deceased estates etc, lots unsorted. I bought a photo album off him with tonnes of early EAP and EFA photos of models, art, prototype construction etc, previously owned by someone working at BAE. Worth a visit if you are in London.
