With the marines partially shifting to focus on island hopping and helping the navy with sea control, including placing sensors on some of these small islands, I was thinking an LAV, or future ARV variant with a powerful, but off the shelf commercial marine radar could be useful. Give the vehicle a telescopic mast, sort of like what news live vans use. Just below the radar have a eyelets that can be used to clip camo netting on, and as the mast is lifted the vehicle basically self camouflages.

A secondary vehicle with dismounts carrying MANPADS and javelins for striking any enemy small vessels like USVs, landing craft, aircraft that stumble into range, and a few riflemen for security.
 
Why tell the other guy where you are? Just use the ACV-C with a suitable drone.
 
You land a LAW onto a shoreline and drives a truck off with all that gear. Realistically all that's needed is a truck with enough powerbed for the load and a built in ladder for Marines to hang the camo net. A second, identical truck with the C3I suite and a couple of ISVs/Humvees for the guards detachment.

Something like the Russian Predel-E radar would be excellent. Has all the pieces to fit in.
 
Interesting concept — using a commercial marine radar on an ARV with a telescopic mast could really boost situational awareness, especially in cluttered littoral zones. Pairing that with a dismount team for flexible defense makes a lot of sense too. Curious how they'd manage power needs and radar signature though.
Considering 60ft boat can operate a radar, pretty sure and ARV can manage to power one too.

Radar signature wouldn’t be much of an issue, it would just look like a merchant or pleasure vessel sitting just off shore, or beached.
 
Basically, this is re-inventing the mast-mounted surveillance variant of the Canadian Coyote recce LAV. That 10 metre Will-Burt telescoping mast was a good concept back in 1993 but, as DWG said, drones have long since made this approach obsolete.

Instead of a stationary anti-radiation target with mast-mounted radar deployed, perhaps a LAV/ARV fitted with mini-VLS boxes for volleys of micro-tactical quadcopter UAS (akin to the Israeli Spear Ninox)? Or, if you need the range that the mast-mounted radar gives you, make it a palletised system that can be dismounted (to separate the emitter from the workstations)?

Who is going to waste an ARM at a commercial surface-search emitter?
