(The designations F-98 and F-99 were temporary fighter interceptor designations only. The designations F-98 and F-99 were not applied permanently to manned fighter aircraft because they were respectively manufactured as air-to-air and ground-to-air guided missiles.)

A few remarks/additions:
  • The cancelled F-91A was Model AP-31-N1.
  • The cancelled XP-92 was Model 115 (Consolidated-Vultee system).
  • The XF-92A was called Model 7-002 which was absolutely non-standard (see attachment).
It was never the "Model 7" (that designation applied to the first series of ATLAS rockets).
  • The F-94B was Model 780-76-08.
  • The cancelled F-94D was Model 980-75-14.
  • The YF-96 was the AP-23M.
