Funny: the link call the three of them "good aircaft", "bad aircraft", "ugly aircraft"... As far as I am concerned, I call them all "beautiful aircraft"... no need for me to fly and kill, I just love them as drawings, shapes.

They are the names of the three models: "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" which is also the name of a famous Spaghetti Western starting Clint Eastwood:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060196/

The three names refer to the Man with no Name (Clint Eastwood), Angel Eyes (Lee Van Cleef) and the Rat (Elli Wallach). The Kansas Uni team have given each model one of the names referring to the characters. Though really the difference between the three aircraft is size based, not morals and appearance.

If still living, Sergio Leone would appreciate it for sure..... ;)

The movie is more famous for its music theme. Its probably the most famous original music from a film.

Hell for a close air support (CAS) aircraft, and the fact that almost everyone and anyone with a rifle will be shooting at you (not to even mention 12.7mm, 14.5mm, 20mm, 23mm, 30mm, 35mm, 40mm, 57mm and just about every type of SAM from shoulder-launched all the way to the likes of the SA-6!!!) they look a little to flimsy (especially in the tail booms.

Look at the damage that A-10’s and Su-25’s have been coming home with!
