“Canadian Ambassador to Japan Ian McKay gave an interview to Jiji Press in Tokyo on the 10th. Regarding Canada’s participation as an observer since July in the joint development of the next-generation fighter aircraft by Japan, the UK, and Italy, he stated that “Canada can contribute through its advanced expertise and technological capabilities in aviation, as well as in radar and satellite operating systems.” He made clear that Canada’s ultimate goal is to become a full member of the program.”
They still haven’t given up on becoming a full member!
