Hesham, what are "Special Types of Rotary Wing Aircraft" and "Helicopters before Helicopters" - books, I presume. Can you give fuller details of these (author, publisher etc.)

Both were penned by aeronautical engineer Gene Liberatore.

Helicopters Before Helicopters was his summary of decades worth of Liberatore's own articles on helicopter development.

My dear Apophenia beat me to it.

My dear Apophenia beat me to it.
Thanks, Hesham, Apophenia, Schneiderman. Amazing - 60 years of studying British aviation, and I had never come across this competition. There's always more to learn!!!

My dear Ursrius,

I hope that, you will complete your site, because many entries haven't descriptions,
it's very intereseting,

Many thanks. I hope I can get near the end, it all takes a lot of time, and I'm not getting any younger! I think I am going to change tack for a while and just concentrate on the smaller companies. That is typically much quicker, and it will at least look like I am making progress!! That will mean, in the forthcoming releases, no de Havilland, English Electric, Fairey, Hawker etc.
Of course, the core of any entry comes from the "standard" published sources, but they need, as far as I can go, checking and re-checking, addition of further details etc. etc.....and the years go by!

Continuing on the current thread (which, or course, has given me new entries to consider!), we have the following British entries:

British Helicopter Co. (Purton and Purton)
C. M. Brune
E. T. Buckley
F. F. Greenaway
E. D. Haworth
B. L. V. Kay
A. J. Mawbey
N. S. Muir
J. R. Porter
F. Samide
W. Scotter
G. Spurgeon and Chapman
J. R. Vernon-Venables
W. Waite and Col. Tumer-Clarke
J. Westaway and J. Westaway and Skelt
H. P. Wheeldon

British Helicopter Co. (Purton and Purton) I already have from their Itford Light Aeroplane Competition of 1922 entry - this was presumably the same, or a modified version thereof. Buckley, Hayworth and Samide have brief descriptions given above, and Porter is quite well described, but who were they? And as for the others? I am also having no luck coming up with the given patents (I am never good at searching Espacenet - always seem to get the parameters wrong). Any help?
