Two strange flying boat projects

The picture of the 4-engined design is identical to that, of the Supermarine
524 in Tony Buttlers BSP, but there engines are said to be Proteus . ???

The 4 engine flying boat is the Saunders-Roe P.162 designed to Specification R.2/48 powered by either compounded Griffons or Turbo Griffons. From "Aircraft for the Royal Air Force" by Michael J.F. Bowyer ISBN 0-571-11515-2.
