The titles of these patents mention “airship” while the 3v show airplane huge wings and tiny fuselages…
No explanation in the text. Inflatable wings as soon as 1939? And why are there rotors if this is lighter than air?

???
- Relatively small fuselages suggest large size.
- Wings along with what appears to be a tailplane suggest lifting flight
- The position of the four aft/fore engines suggests use as thrusters (and possibly propulsion)
- Dorsal? rotor suggests autogyro like ability
???

Could this be a proposal for an early heavier-than-air airship-autogyro? Capable of forward lifting flight once it gets up to speed but with a pin wheeling rotor for extra lift during the initial phase.

Or someone with a friend at the patent office had a sense of humour and planted this to confuse us?

After checking, it seems the lighter than air feature would be mandatory with such a name:

Apologies for bumping this, but that dorsal rotor might be intended to assist ground handling. Being able to hold the craft *down* until secured, then lift away without dumping lots of ballast does make sense...

Also, given a traditional air-ship's slow response to control inputs...
{FX: CFIT alert-- "Pull UP ! Pull UP !" }

Uh, today's have FlyByWire and vectored thrust...

IMHO, it would have been too fragile for serious use, but the idea was neat.

Weren't the Ilya Mourometz sometimes referred to as 'flying ships'? ;)
