While searching through Google Patents for Piasecki designs, I ran across the following in the links below. If Overscan feels this should be attached to the XV-1 thru XV-3 thread, go ahead and attach this there. I wasn't sure.

Most of those have bupkus to do with Piasecki.

As stated in a different thread... check the name(s) of the inventors and assignee(s) before posting the links.

there is Piasecki very nice compound attack helicopter,and may be
it was submitted to a competition by that time (1965).

The very first patent in the first post, was actually built as the Piasecki 16H-1 and work with the shrouded tail rotor continues to this day with the Piasecki X-49A.
As far as the patent in Reply #3, that patent is specifically for a control system and, whilst sponsored by Piasecki, I do not think the aircraft displayed represents any specific Piasecki design but is rather a generic drawing to illustrate the control system.
