What Ive been told by multiple submariners is that Down Periscope is by far the most accurate submarine movie ever made. Crimson Tide OTOH might not be accurate but its a good movie as is HFRO, of course cutting it down to 2 hours means some liberties were taken over the book.

HFRO and RSR are the only two good Clancy books, I much prefer Larry Bond's Caudron, Vortex, and Red Phoenix.
