Dear Hesham, I'm a little bit tired of this ratatouille. We are grateful for your findings, but can you add little more efforts to sort things a little? Thread must have a sense, and threads must be sorted somehow. You are starting zillion of threads...too much. Wouldn't this be more appropriate for US VSTOL Projects for example?
 
A dedicated thread on lift-fan projects would be better I think... ;)
Seriously, I am more interested in the merit of the lift-fan approach than I am about the exact history of vtol proposals from each country. But, I do get the point.
