Here is the place to post tank projects, that have less or more than two strips.

1. Nazi Germany 1000 ton land battleship P.1000 Ratte
2. The same size eight strip 800 mm gun P.1500 Monster
3. Another extreme - russian project Vezdechod from 1915

Matej,

Thank you very much - I've always wondered what some of the German Land battleships were to look like.

Regards,

Greg

Thanks Matej,

I didn't knew that Germans tried to put this SF nightmares into real hardware

Matej and tank experts,

I would like to know more about this beasts

Design story
Technical data
Intended operational role ( They look more like terror weapons than practical weapons. It's clear that they could only be operated under friendly air dominace conditions. I guess that mobility would be very low and. Nevertheless psicologycal effect on their oponents would be similar to Hannibal elefants or Star Wars Death Star)

The Russian project it is also a giant?

He-he - that formulation is exact. :) As I wrote sometime before, I dont know much about land vehicles, so technical specifications, history, etc. is a task for somebody else. I just posted rare pictures that can be interesting for some of us.

No, it is small one-man tank with only one (!) strip. I found a web with information in english:

Ups, sorry :D

Well, I googled and found this excellent info about the Ratte:

The text comes from a very interesting (prize it's also interesting ;)) book about WWII secret projects book:
