Table Leg II Special Bomb

I was working on a post to my blog about the V-146 Vigilante this evening. In looking at a weapons load chart for the proposal it listed that the aircraft could carry a "TABLE LEG II-SPECIAL BOMB"


A search of this site netted 30 posts with table but no Table Leg II. Using online search tools of yahoo and google netted a bunch of new and replacement table legs but no weapon information.


Any clues would be appreciated.

Sorry for necroposting, but could the Table Legs II be Mk.105 Hotpoint? While looking from the Boeing Model 806 Summary Report from August 16th 1957 (from Retromehanix), I noticed that Table Legs II was listed at 1500 lb which is somewhat close the Hotpoint's weight which I have seen range around 1700 lb to 1500 lb.

Tableleg was the committee tasked to develop low level delivery tactics for nuclear weapons. They worked on both the lob toss method and the retarded (parachute or retro rocket) method. My guess is that Table Leg II would be a reference to a generic weapon using the second method. In the event, the Vigilante carried the Mk28/B28 internally for laydown delivery. So that's probably what this became.
