ŞİMŞEK-K, with a datalink range of 150 km, can reach a range of 500+ km when used like a cruise missile. The longer range is likely obtained with a larger MTOW of 83 kg compared to 70 kg of baseline ŞİMŞEK. The payload capacity is 18 kg."

Tiny Black Arrow Cruise Missile Demonstrates A Whopping 400-Mile Range

400 miles with a 200lb munition??

MALD was like 500 in the original non jamming version at ~300 lbs. Low weight = tiny turbojet that sips fuel. Payload must be super marginal though. For special ops that’s probably fine; the GBU-69 has a 36 lb warhead. It’s pretty much like a precision 120mm mortar strike.

It’s enough to to do the job. Hellfire is like what, 20lbs? Against most any mobile/relocatable target, a 30-40 lb warhead is fine.

RTX's Raytheon completes Ground-Launched StormBreaker® test

Finally, GLSDBII :)

There are many different rocket launch-vehicles the US could use based on the likes of the Hellfire, Sidewinder, AMRAAM, Sparrow, ESSM Block 2 and SM-6 to ground launch both the SDB-I and SDB-II.

YPG testers recently evaluated the integration of the Switchblade 600 Block 1 into the MQ-9, often referred to as the Reaper when equipped with a munition.

The Switchblade 600 Block 1 (SB 600) is a state-of-the-art anti-armor loitering munition, featuring the potent warhead employed by the renowned Javelin anti-tank missile. The system excels in range, achieving an impressive distance of up to 175 kilometers when launched from an MQ-9 at an altitude of 30,000 feet.

In the test, the Switchblade was successfully launched twice—once with an inert warhead and once with a high-explosive round—targeting a T-72 tank from YPG's target collection. These tests evaluated the system’s components, from the launcher to its long-range antennas. Control of the SB600 through the MQ-9 Reaper Ground Control Station (GCS) involved an advanced integration of Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Data Link (DDL) relay, which enabled precise operation over long distances.

Following launch, the SB600 was maneuvered by an operator using SATCOM for over-the-horizon communication, ensuring continuous command and telemetry exchange. The MQ-9 acted as a relay station using DDL to manage real-time video feeds and enhance the munition’s precision during reconnaissance and target engagement. During the test, the SB600 was orbited around the target for confirmation before performing a high-speed attack dash, documented by a UH-60 helicopter and ground-based Kineto Tracking Mounts for comprehensive mission analysis.

While not a weapon for now there seems to be interest to using Bayern-Chemie Red Kite rocket system for potential Hypersonic/ ballistic applications

IIRC is not the ErAM program adopting both CoAspire RAACM and Zone5 Rusty Dagger?

Though both of those are air launched; perhaps a future sale of ground launched Baracuda will emerge.

Essentially while US discussed the JDAM-ER, Russia made it) A clear difference between military with theoretical experience (American) and military with near-peer practical experience (Russian).
I believe the US do have something similar (ERAM), also heard APKWS can shoot down glide bombs now.

But powered version is still discussed)
Discussed by who? It is a OEM pitched solution missing an actual operational requirement or customer funding. USAF and USN don't even have an established need for JDAM-ER let alone a powered JDAM.

As was mentioned earlier, ERAM is an operational requirement which has had two weapons selected. Both of those are now in production and Ukraine is working with the two OEMs to begin absorbing these into its force. It will be introduced to Russian forces soon enough.

JDAM-ER is the wing kit; PJDAM would be the equivalent of. The U.S. looks to be bypassing this route in favor of mass produced purpose build cruise missiles like RAACM and Rusty Dagger, both part of the ERAM program. All of the air services have one or more cheap cruise missile program or at least RFi.

Yes, seems I mistook a bit. Thanks for correcting.

Yes, but our bomb is already flying)
ERAM has already flown too, just not at Russian forces... yet. Range: 400-480km.

Heres a better pic of one mounted on the aircraft.
It actually looks more like your western style jdam-er type glide bomb with its separate wing kit & tail section, tho they still look to be using the umpk type staggered wings.
The big advantage looks to be the longer wings this has over the old umpk so likely longer range
G3yFRSuWoAArV2W

It doesnt look to be powered tho,but it wouldnt be that hard to either stretch the tail section to fit a jet engine or to stick a jet engine & small intakes on to the back behind the tail surfaces.
