each F-15EX equipped with 22 AIM-120D
each ST-21 equipped with 6 AIM-152C

vs

Blue force:

Load out:
each F-35A equipped with 2 JNAAM + 2 AIM-120D + 4 CUDA (all internal)

Of course, these force mixes make no sense. If they'd built the Super Tomcat, there would be no Super Hornet and thus no Growler. What the Navy would have done for the escort EW mission is an open question but not the EF-18. And pairing up Navy and Air Force aircraft in one Blue Force is fairly unlikely -- it's a C2 screw-up waiting to happen, even in this modern net-centric world.

And as Paul suggested, even ignoring all that, "why" would be critical to even begin thinking about scenarios. What mission do the two forces have? ("Kill the other side" isn't generally a complete mission.)

I have put this question through rigorous analysis. The answer is … 42.
The problem is that the question was "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?"

That maths is wrong, the question is 6 X 7 rather than 9.

I think it strongly depends if each pilots had a good sleep the night before the fight.

No, no, no. The question truly is how much is 6 x 9, to which the answer is 42. The perceived incongruity of question and answer is simply proof there's something seriously wrong with the universe.

No, no, no, 6 X 9 = 54 and a half chewed toffee, or perhaps an Everton mint minus the crunchy exterior. Unless Jupiter is in full moon and the Donkey has not been fed. Honestly.....

I do sort of have a geeky question based on the above.
The US supercarriers (Forrestal, Enterprise, Nimitz and Ford classes) have carried some pretty varied air groups over the years.
Which Air Group era was or would have been the most effective against its opponents?
Were any of the unbuilt or unused aircraft not included in their Air Groups really missed?
