Spartan Aircraft Company Projects

Hi,

this company at first used the prefix "C",to indicate commercial and digitals
was for the number of seats, whatever the year of production, after C5,it began
to use the Model,to recognize as a series.

We found Models 7,8 & 12,and we can assume that, the NS-1 may it was
Model 9,and the NP may it was Model 10,there is no trace to Model 6 & 11.

Original Spartan Executive 7X prototype. The vertical tail and rudder were very small, almost like a Gee Bee racing airplane.

The 8W trainer had a combat version advertised as the FBW-1 (Zeus). This aircraft was to have two Colt MG-40 fuselage mounted machine guns synchronized to fire though the propeller arc. A flexible gun firing from the rear seat on a mount would also use a Colt MG-40. Racks for droppable munitions including a 116 lb ordnance on its centerline. Two pylons under each wing would support a mix of 17 to 25 lbs of ordnance.

NP-1 had its roots in the C3. It was the naval primary trainer based on the C-3. The NS-1(registration NX17634) was, from what I understand, the experimental version of the NP-1.
