I have never seen a more innovative & impressive organization than @SpaceX . Six months from idea to fully analyzed and flight-ready hardware!..They are making science fiction a reality each day and @inspiration4x is proud to be a very small part in the history they are making.

Note from that the launch will be covered live on the Netflix You Tube channel.

Some interesting Fact behind Blue Origin Amazon lawsuit against Starlink
The FAA is waiting since 15 MONTHS on detail Information about Kuiper Systems LLC.
In mean time SpaceX give a monthly Briefing on Starlink to FAA.

Why Is Blue Origin Kuiper Systems LLC unable to provide Data ?
Oh by way, there is no Satellite hardware for Kuiper Systems.
Sound familiar ?

Head of Kuiper Systems LLC is Rajeev Badyal, a former SpaceX employee,
Badyal was fired by Elon Musk in 2018, he was unsatisfied with Badyal management of Starlink, what run behind schedule...

Odd
Blue Origin & Co hire rejects from SpaceX,
While there best men leaving Blue Origin & Co and go work for SpaceX...

I don’t understand your post. Kuiper is an Amazon project, and nothing to do with BO. Hence why they’ve booked nine flights of Atlas V with ULA.

Inspiration4 ‘Go’ for First All-Civilian Orbital Mission to Space

HAWTHORNE, CA, September 3, 2021 – Teams from SpaceX and Inspiration4 met yesterday at SpaceX’s headquarters in Hawthorne, California to evaluate the readiness of the Falcon 9 rocket, Dragon spacecraft, ground systems, recovery assets, crew training, and other key elements of SpaceX’s human spaceflight system for Inspiration4 – the historic first all-civilian human spaceflight mission to orbit. Upon conclusion of the Flight Readiness Review, teams are proceeding toward a targeted launch on Wednesday, September 15 UTC (September 14 EDT) from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. A backup launch opportunity is available on Thursday, September 16 UTC (September 15 EDT). Both 24-hour launch windows start at 12:00 a.m. Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

Approximately three days before liftoff, SpaceX will narrow down the launch window to five hours based upon weather conditions at the launch site, along the ascent corridor, and at landing locations off the coasts of Florida for a safe return of the crew and splashdown a few days later.

The Inspiration4 crew – consisting of Mission Commander Jared Isaacman, Mission Pilot Dr. Sian Proctor, Medical Officer Hayley Arceneaux, and Mission Specialist Chris Sembroski – are scheduled to arrive in Florida on Thursday, September 9 to begin final preparations for their mission. For background on the Inspiration4 crew, see the original crew announcement from March 2021 as well as crew bios at https://inspiration4.com/crew.

Since the March 2021 announcement, the Inspiration4 crew has focused extensively on mission training and preparation, spending the past six months completing a wide range of training activities including centrifuge training, Dragon simulations, observations of other SpaceX launch operations, Zero-G plane training, altitude training and additional classroom, simulation and medical testing. This focused preparation was essential in team development and being ready to execute their role as the first commercial crew to orbit the Earth.

If I had to go after Elon, it would be with a Saturn IB design with aluminum LOX tank surrounded by plastic composite kero tanks and scaled up to where the legs that slide between the tanks are enough for it to launch and land with no pad.

Ok, I'll bite - what are your target design parameters in terms of mission orbit altitudes and inclinations, required infrastructure, launch and landing sites, accelerations, launch frequency, payload mass, reusability factor, cost per launch, reliability, availability, safety, environmental impact, maintainability, risk, resiliency, etc.? Because to me it sure looks like you already have a favorite design solution in search of a use case.

The military is looking at Starship for…perhaps troop rockets right? So perhaps orbital constraints are eased. For the military—they want something that is the opposite, say of SuperHeavy. That is very ground intensive. But the design I talk about needs those tall legs for not only great cushioning…and lowering—-but to be high enough to launch itself BACK without infrastructure. Maybe vertical jets to assist? I’d hate to the one to do the math behind it. Having legs not stove the tanks in is a plus. The tanks might even be on shocks to slide past each other during heavy landings. Empty plastic kerotanks might themselves be shock absorbers of a type between upper and lower Saturn IB type plates.

The point is to avoid an eggshell or punch throughs. If something does break..the break happens where you want it to in an articulated part than can be replaced…like a mechanical fuse.

Just kicking the ball around here.

If I am not mistaken, the folks in India use a solid as a first stage with liquid strap-one. Not the best on performance but good on strength. Heck, I’ve imagined a Shuttle II with the stack’s oxidizer where the payload bay goes in an unmanned orbiter, with an even simpler all LH2 ET designed from the start to be a wet workshop pod. The payload of crew or cargo go atop the ET…but I digress.

I wish Elon well.

Inspiration4 reveals mission payload highlights, including the first ever minted NFT song to go into space

Song from Grammy award-winning rock band Kings of Leon one of several items to be auctioned beginning Sept. 9 to support $200 million fundraising effort for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (Sept. 9, 2021) – Astronauts have long brought interesting items into space, dating back to the very first Mercury mission in 1961. But with Inspiration4, the first all-civilian mission to orbit, the crew will be taking not just personal mementos but things that didn’t exist even a year ago, much less 60 years ago. Indeed, their payload will include the first-ever minted NFT song to be played in orbit, created by the Grammy Award-winning rock band Kings of Leon.

The minted NFT, a never-before-released performance of “Time in Disguise” from the band’s newest album, is among a handful of unique items that will go into orbit and be auctioned off on YellowHeart to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and its $200 million Inspiration4 fundraising campaign to accelerate research advancements and save more children worldwide.

“We are proud to support St. Jude and its Music Gives initiative,” said Kings of Leon in a statement, which explained that Music Gives to St. Jude Kids is a way for bands, fans, and everyone in between to help ease the burden on St. Jude families while generating funds to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.® “We’re honored to participate in this historic journey in an effort to raise money for St. Jude, and we’re sending all our best to the crew of Inspiration4.”

Hayley Arceneaux, Inspiration4’s Medical Officer, will play the NFT aboard the SpaceX Dragon vehicle. She is a St. Jude physician assistant and cancer survivor who will be the youngest American, the first pediatric cancer survivor, and the first person with a prosthesis to travel to space.

The Inspiration4 payload auction items will also include a variety of iconic and culturally significant items donated to St. Jude, including:

Inspiration4 mission jackets featuring unique artwork by St. Jude patients, and original artwork by the Inspiration4 crew members, that were created by Space for Art Foundation co-founders artist Ian Cion and retired NASA astronaut Nicole Stott, and handmade by spacesuit replica artist Ryan Nagata.

66 pounds of hops that, upon return, will be used to brew an out-of-this world beer by the brewers of Samuel Adams. As the official beer of Inspiration4, Sam Adams has committed a maximum $100,000 donation to St. Jude.

A Fisher Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Space Pen & Coin Set containing a piece of material from Apollo 11.

A ukulele from Martin Guitar that crew member Chris Sembroski will play in space.

50 art NFTs from 50 different artists will be auctioned on Origin Protocol's NFT platform in collaboration with Subtractive, including an NFT that crew member Dr. Sian Proctor will bring into space that was also a piece of physical art that previously traveled to the Mariana Trench, making it the first piece of art that went to the furthest ocean depths and then into orbit.

A handful of plastic and plush STEM toys based on the five characters from the popular animated STEM series, “Space Racers.”

A mini-astronaut plush that will be delivered to the winning bidder with an original collar designed by renowned artist Romero Britto.

The recent TIME magazine with cover feature of the four crew members that they will autograph after the SpaceX Dragon capsule returns.

IWC Schaffhausen has designed and donated four unique, space-themed Pilot’s Watch Chronographs representing the mission’s values of Leadership, Hope, Generosity and Prosperity. The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition Inspiration4 watches will be worn by the four crew members on their journey into space, before being auctioned off to benefit St. Jude.
Customized Montblanc StarWalker Writing Instruments and stationeries for the crew to write about their journey in space.

The auction opens on Thursday, Sept. 9, and will run through November, with different items being available at various points during the overall auction. All items can be bid on by visiting stjude.org/inspiration4.

“One of the key things we’ve focused one since Inspiration4 was first announced was how we will be able to make a significant contribution to help St. Jude cure childhood cancer here on Earth,” said Jared Isaacman, Shift4 Payments CEO and commander of Inspiration4. “Every item we are bringing is going to help us reach our goal and allow us to share this experience with so many others who want to offer support.”

The funds raised by the auction will contribute to the more than $128 million already committed toward the $200 million Inspiration4 fundraising campaign, according to Richard C. Shadyac Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“The impact of the Inspiration4 mission has been immeasurable, serving as an incredible platform to educate and engage millions in the movement to find cures and deliver care for childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases through accelerated research and treatment,” said Shadyac. “The auction is a critical component of the overall campaign as it enables us to reach new audiences and supporters as we work to fulfill our mission.”

In addition to the aforementioned items and others that will be auctioned off to benefit

St. Jude, each crew member is bringing a myriad of personal mementos, including family items and school memorabilia. Additionally, the payload will also carry items that illuminate the St. Jude mission while honoring the patients and families who have been impacted by childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The next human launch won't be NASA astronauts. The agency will, for the most part, be a spectator.

That doesn't mean @KathyLueders isn't stoked.

“I cannot tell you how excited I am for the SpaceX folks," she told me. "This is like watching your kids graduate from college.”

I haven't read yet anything regarding the why.
But let's keep in mind that if the satellite had a failure during its deployment, it will fall back that way.

Numerous lightning strikes over the Atlantic tonight. This one lit up Inspiration4’s Falcon 9 rocket moments ago. Watch live views from Kennedy Space Center: youtu.be/qyG1p3X1l74

For the first time, SpaceX will use its own facility near pad 39A for the all-private Inspiration4 crew to put on their spacesuits.

Astronauts on NASA missions since Apollo have suited up for launch at the Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building located in the KSC industrial area, near the center's headquarters.

The Inspiration4 crew members are this evening rehearsing the steps they will take on launch day. Rather than walking out of NASA's O&C Building, the crew departed from SpaceX's "Hangar X" facility located south of the Vehicle Assembly Building, boarded their Tesla Model X automobiles, and rode out to pad 39A to the suit-up room near the SpaceX hangar.

Another good two episodes of the documentary for Inspiration4. They are very likeable crew and they all seem very competent especially Jared who makes a good commander. Certainly a nice antidote to all that Branson Vs Bezos nonsense. Got a feeling this is also a learning experience for Space X. By the way Hayley really is fearless in a good way and she’s very mature for her age.
