Though as story notes Flyby Technology have bought the export rights from Fly BVLOS Technology and the 160 drones for Taiwan would be manufactured in the UK rather than Turkey.

Drone handles the recoil pretty well, rear kicks up but then front propellers increase lift to compensate and correct its pitch.

One topic I think that should get more interest is drones against mines:
OIP.jpg

With thermal cameras detecting difference in thermal properties, ground penetrating radar and magnetic detectors being developed, it seems to me that anti-drone CAP cued in by unattended ground sensors would be needed to maintain minefield integrity. The slow speed of anti-mine drones with ground penetrating sensors make them easy targets compared to bomber/fpv drones that don't linger or scout drones that are cheap, light and potentially fast. Using a drone to kill demining drones is better than exposing your own artillery or maneuver forces to counterfire.

“There’s an impression you can get from watching YouTube videos that may not match reality,” Bush said. “You might see the one attack out of 30, where the little drone with the RPG got lucky and worked, but you didn’t see the other 29 where it got jammed and crashed [or] got shot down.”

Regardless, the threat from loitering munitions is real and one the Army is looking at from a defensive perspective as well. It’s also one of the reasons for the service changing course on its M1 Abrams modernization programs.

“We want to create a vehicle with enough (size, weight, and power) .. to enable future capabilities like an integrated active protection system, probably a radar directed energy, because just the threats are multiplying,” Bush said.

Imagine just how loud Jackal will be with all this ducted fans....

There are probably a couple countries that can do this but Ukraine probably is probably the only one at war. Well actually I suspect Israel is probably using or about to use such inside tunnels and structures where there is signal latency/blockage, but I doubt we will hear about it when and if it happens given the controversial nature of such tech. Ukraine is fighting an undeniable defensive war with almost no political backlash among its supporters outside cost; it can afford to showcase such a development.

It is only a matter of time before all the major players adopt such tech, assuming it is fielded already.
