Funny, i never noticed just how close to vertical the flight engine was. Good thing it didn't fly around that much and could live with an inefficient layout.

Short SC.1 XG900 precariously positioned today in the Science Museum, South Kensington, presumably to show off the jet lift engines.

That is the first time that I have ever seen the lift engines of the Short SC.1, and to think I went to the Science museum almost twenty years ago.
